I received an email which appears to have come from my own address. The "From" address is my own email address. I definitely did not send this email. How did it get sent from my email address?

Anyone, Anywhere in the world can input any email address as their sending address in their email client. Therefore anyone can send an email with any sending address.

Generally this is how Spam and Virus mails are generated from bogus accounts.

It is very important in today's highly polluted online environment, to ensure that you are very careful when opening emails and attachments. Not doing so can seriously affect and destroy critical data on your machine and network.
